Surrounded by mountains of tall green trees and incredible wilderness, Mt Harriet National Park is the pride of Port Blair. This park is carved from the forests, further showcasing flora and fauna beautifully. The park got its name from the British artist Harriet C. Tytler. It was established in 1987 as a forest reserve and also served as headquarters for British officials for a long time. The park is spread over 5 square km and is home to rich biodiversity and panoramic views of the area. It is also the highest peak within the group of islands in Andaman. Did you know that this mountain features in the 20Rs note in the Indian Currency?
